Won't start

2001 Rover 25 1.4
Car: Rover 25
Year: 2001
Variant: 1.4
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The engine on my Rover is very noisy, somebody told me it sounded like the alternator. Then this morning it wouldn't start, there was nothing when I turned the key. Is this something to do with the alternator?
Also, I've had problems with the car bunny hopping, in any gear at any speed, usually when the car has warmed up. Could this be something to do with the alternator as well?

all i can say is replace the alternater and see how things go if the car started to jump as you say then if would say alternater because with out the alternater you will just run the cars battery down and get to where you are now so replace the alternater and put the car battery on charge as it will most likely be as flat as a pancake
