had a new alternator fitted about 5 months ago bought a new battery 7 months ago driving home today the battery warning light came on,it goes off when the car is idle

sounds like a wiring issue or faulty alternator
we have suffered this recently with a brand of poor quality units get the output tested to confirm also test the earth connections
