Fuel leaking in to the boot

I went and fueled my car the other day drove home everything was fine went to get in it the nexted day and the smell of fuel was strong I opened the boot and the carpet in the boot was soaked with fuel the same side as the tank or where you fill it just wondering if anyone can give me any ideas of where it could be leaking from and getting in to the boot any help with be appreciated many thanks

You sure it was fuel in boot and not water ? I dont know how fuel would get into boot , the tank and lines are underneath as far as I know . I think some had problems with the filler neck and cap leaking .

Yes it is defo fuel mate it was a strong smell
