i recently bought a 53 plate rover 25 its had a new alternator fitted started up the first time when i looked at it in the garage turned engine off to test central locking wouldnt restart seller told me was because it had sat around for a while. delievered to me today was driven from bromley to erith no problem started 2 or 3 times today when i was checking things left for half an hour now ive got the same problem i experienced in the shop what could it be ?

Try a jump start , battery may be run down or needing replaced .Need to check the alternator that was replaced is charging correctly also .

i read another post and it said about cleaning the spade connector but have no clue where it is

Must be meaning check the connector/ plug on alternator .With the alternator being replaced , it must have been faulty and not charging .That could ruin the battery and if it has any weak cells it wont hold any charge .You have to check charge rate with a meter and verify if charging or not .Most fast fit centres will usually check battery and alternator foc , while you wait .Should return to garage for fixing , if you start messing about with it , it gives them an out for knocking it back under any warranty .

I had one of these about a Year ago and it would never start unless you held the Accelerator pressed about 50% of the way to the floor. Once you did that it started fine - ran rough for a moment and then it was fine.
