i have recently had head gaskit done done a thousand miles since and no oil in the car any ideas no leaks or anything
Problem added: May 9, 2013 (10 years ago)
The oil and filter should have been changed along with new head gasket. Was the level correct when you had the car back?
Some cars can `use` a litre (or more)of oil per 1000 miles. weekly checks are always recommended.

yeah everything was fine with the car when i had it back.. oil and filter was changed at the time the head was done.. i have got back tonight with no oil in the car..

I would top it up to the recommended level and check level daily. If in doubt take it back to the guys that did the head work.
If the car overheated when the head gasket went it may have caused other damage.

Probably fried the valve stem oil seals when overheated or valve stems worn .If not fixed , excessive oil consumption . Wear on rings / bores wont help either .
