2002 Rover 25 heater fan speeds 1 & 2

The Heater Fan in the Rover is working on position 3 & 4 but is not working on position 1 & 2. Has anyone any ideas how this can be sorted. Thanks for any help.

Need to replace the heater resistor pack.. This controls the speed of the fan...

I see that these Resistor packs are available on E-bay


Having seen them on ebay I did the following;

I removed the Resistor pack which is in behind the Glove Box (remove the two Hex Bolts on the G Box hinges and the G Box will drop down)
I found two of the spring-like Resistors were broken partway along the coil - I straightened out a very short piece of these on the R/H and L/H side of the break - then twisted the two ends together very gently with a Pliers - reinstalled the Resistor pack into the Fan and now Speed's 1 & 2 are working. I do not know how long these coils / Resistors will continue to work for as they are quite brittle. If they go again I will get the Pack on ebay and solder them in position. I am not recommending this as a fix as I do not know if what I have done could have a negative effect down the road.
