Leak through switch on Auto Transmission

1998 Rover 200 216Gsi Automatic (CVT)
Car: Rover 200
Year: 1998
Variant: 216Gsi Automatic (CVT)
Categories: Leaks & Noises
My car has a CVT automatic transmission and on the kerbside of the gearbox, next to the driveshaft, there is a switch, through which the transmission fluid is leaking. There is no identification of this switch in my Haynes manual. Anybody else had this problem / know what this switch is doing? Spoken to a dealer who says there are three switches on this gearbox and he can't advise as to which one I need.

Go to dealer parts and ask to see illustration of switches on gear box and identify from there .

Tried that but they don't have any exploded views of the gearbox for this car (not like they used to with the older microfische systems!)
I entered this question in a few places and a chap in Canada answered saying that this switch serves a dual purpose of starter inhibitor AND reverse light switch. and apparently, overtightening them causes a crack in the plastic inner of the switch and the fluid seeps through. Gave me the part number UHB100170 (in case anyone else needs one) which I have now ordered from Rimmer Bros.co.uk..

Would have thought you didn't need " exploded views of the gearbox " as the switch is usually outside on casing on a lot of boxes .Inhibitor / reverse light switch combined is common but can be fitted on linkage / selector rather than box . Hope it cures your fault , thanks for update .
