1998 Rover 200 radiator water boilling, not circulating, overheating loosing water

Car: Rover 200
Year: 1998
Variant: sli 1.6 auto

on start up tempreture goes to normal
then water in radiator starts to boil
blew hole in hose, then blew holes in radiator.

replaced radiator with a new one
still overheats and looses water

Checked your thermostat ? A pressure test should show any external leaks on cooling system and a sniff test ( block test ) will check head gasket which could be your fault , very common .

if water is`nt circulating then check water pump and check the headgasket is`nt gone as whitinghame said

sounds like the themostat, be very careful if this problem isn't sorted out it can very easily blow your head gasket or worse sieze your engine.
