1998 Rover 200 please help

the car has been left for bout 6 months and when i started it up for the 1st time the other day it drove fine for bout 20 minites then loss all power when accelerating while this happening the engine still runs fine i have to pull over when it happens and put into neutral and rev it loads wait bout 10 mins turn it off for bout half an hour an it will be fine again please help

It sounds like the fuel fuel filter maybe contaminated or blocked thus cutting off the fuel to the engine. It would be worth putting a fuel system cleaner in to clean the inside of the fuel system. Even if a car is stood, you must fire the engine up every week to keep oil flowing as the engine can seize due to water getting in. Never apply the handbrake if the car is stood as the rear drums will seize, instead chock the wheels.
