2005 Renault Modus intermittent starting problem

on starting battery sounds flat, wipers come on, sometimes if left a few minutes and try again and let it keep sluggishly turning over it suddenly catches and starts, but that doesnt always work. it then starts fine for a few days then suddenly again wont start. have booked in at local garage to see if battery or charging problem hopefully with low cost solution!

If battery and alternator o.k , could be " lazy " starter .Could also check all wiring to starter and also earths .
