Boot not opening

Hi all. When I press the button on the fob to open the boot, the lights flash on the car but nothing happens and the boot will not open. I've changed the battery in my fob (although I didn't think that was the issue) but it hasn't made any difference. There is no clicking sound as if it's unlocking so I'm at a loss. There's also no key hole to use my key to get into the boot. Any ideas?

Quiet often faulty boot lock which can be caused by water ingress . Normally entails getting it opened by going into boot through inside car to open and check lock
