Any Renault automatic

2005 Renault Modus 1.6 auto
Car: Renault Modus
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.6 auto
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
Renault will say DONT CHANGE THE AUTOMATIC FLUID ,just top it up when required ,but unless you know how to do it you can't ,
They want you to go to the dealer ,the unit is designed to be dealer only but if you are a diy person you can do the best part of it ,
Fluid has to be checked when hot ,have the engine running in neutral get a container undo the plug under the box undo the plug if some fluid runs out its OK if it don't you will need more ,the fill plug is the plug nearest the bulkhead under the selector switch unit
Pour in half a Ltd at a time until it starts running out then its up to level ,NEVER OVER FILL it will cause problems .
Now for the complex bit there is a counter in the computer that is going need to be reset you can either use the dealer or find a transmission shop to do this ,me I'm going to just get it zeroed because its a clock it just counts the time the fluid has spent in run time it works with a condition sensor that measures heat /viscosity and can flag limp mode !
Hope it helps .
