2010 Renault Modus storage compartment box lid on dashboard wwill not shut

Probably need a new lid .

Just check the catch has come back fully it may just need lubricated.

Yes, but how does one remove the defective lid/hinge assembly without stripping out the dashboard?

Normally held in with small screws,take out the inner glove box first which allows access to these.

I did look into this aspect, but there are no securing screws for the storage compartment on my Modus.

I can see the possibility of trying to prise the unit out, but am afraid of damaging the surrounding area.

My Renault Dealer says he will have a look at this, and advise.

" To remove the glovebox you need to remove the visible screws and the one that is covered with the rubber cap in the centre which the flap closes against. You need to prise out the glove box using a flat blade screwdriver. "

Thanks Whittinghame for your suggestion.

Nothing like what you describe exists regarding the assembly on my Modus. Only the little rubber 'buffers' are there but these cover no holding screws, and there is no centre fixing.

The Modus is going in tomorrow to the main dealer for routine servicing and it would be interesting to see what they say.
