1998 Renault Megane heater not woking

I have a megane scenic and there is a problem with the heaters and the control. Firstly, the control doesn't go all the way around, I can turn it to all the settings except the front window heater. Secondly, when the control lis set to blow air into the car nothing happens even if i turn the setting to number 4. Could this be a fuse or something to do with the faulty control?

if you mean electricaly ie fan does not work it requires a modified wiring harnes behind the dash as the original tends to melt due to poor earthing at the fan rheostat
