1998 Renault Megane air temp sensor

Can anyone tell me where i can find the air temperature sensor? There is a plug in the big pipe leading to the air filter not sure if this is it or not. Is there anyway i could test the sensor or the plug with a multimeter?
Also can the coil pack be tested if not how would i know if it was faulty?

On many of the 16v engines it plugs into the inlet manifold usually at the front .

Or is it this you refer to ,

The Air temperature sensor is located in middle of the front bumper bottom air intake.

This should not to be confused with air mass meter or sensor.

Simply Jack up the front passenger side and have a good look, it`s a black small block with a plug and wires just out of the way of air intake. Should be not to far away from fog light housing but at the back of the bumper not front.

It`s located in this place as to get the best air temp reading but not get wet or be influenced by engine temp. Clever hey!!

Could try cleaning the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor which is usually located within the air ducting just before the air filter. Undo the electrical connector and withdraw the MAF sensor. Clean with carb cleaner then brush softly. Also check all vacuum pipes for signs of splitting or perishing.
