1998 Renault Megane alrm on renault scenic

i have looked in the haynes renault megan scenic .. it says there is a switch in the glove box to activate it ..but there isnt one in the glove box..my immobiliser open the doors and starts the engine .. but i have noticed the alrm dosent work ... can you please help me ... thnx

Alarm and immobiliser are normally set automatically when you lock car .

if the immbomliser is working how is it i dont ear a beep or my lights dont flash telling me my alarm is on
