1998 Renault Megane judder

When i accelorate from 1st to 2nd to 3rd the car judders as if the engine stop for a second and when it does this a load spitting noise comes from my engine any ideas!

sounds like the car is back firing through the inlet ie either want a tune or even a service i would service the car first ie spark plugs fuel filter engine oil and filter air filter if you do take the car to a tuners it may even be the mass air flow sensor that is at fault causing the judder
