2003 Renault Megane grinding on steering

There is a plastic sounding grinding noise with the odd clunk, almost sprung loaded, when car is in motion and steering, especially on right and left full lock.

Hard to diagnose from info supplied , but with steering best not to take chances and get checked out asap .Could be driveshaft , wheel bearing etc. or something simple .

it may be bottom balljoints.they gave problems on alot of renaults 00 onwards.
