2001 Renault Megane engine turns but doesnt fire

hi, started the car as normal on a very cold morning, no probs, left it running for a few minutes while i scraped the windows, when i got in ,i noticed the alarm/immobiliser light was still flashing.
Turned the car off & back on ,but not been able to start it since, ran battery flat ,so called out breakdown who tried jump start no good. PLEASE HELP.
p.s I am average diy mecanic & have repaired/ changed loads of projects in the past.

have u checked to see if there is voltage coming to fuel pump.if there is then the immob is ok.then see is diesel getting through.
