2004 Renault Megane oil dipstick

Car: Renault Megane
Year: 2004
Variant: estate
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
hi , it sounds a bit strange but the dipstick on my renualt megane snapped off leaving about 4 to 6 inches of the top section. I am pretty sure this has occurred because of the temperature the gauge is made of plastic.
Question is how to retrieve lower section, ? help.

Id be incline to try a straw with bluetack? rolled to be warm and malleable? Worth a try - Any tube about the same diameter and it should slip over the stick.

You dont say what engine . Happens quite often on that car . Remove dipstick tube to get remains , refit and fit new dipstick .
