2003 Renault Megane car does not strart

when I put in the key card into the key card slot, it writes press start+clutch/ brake to start, but nothing is happening. there is no respond from the car. it does not do anything at all not even a click sound to show if it tries to start up the engen.
please help if possible.

Seen that before when dirt / dust on card reader .If so , sometimes cleaning out with a vac can cure .Other times it may be the micro switches inside card reader or card itself faulty .If not that other possible causes maybe not related to card / reader .

You may be on the money with that fix as I have had cars with same issue ,you can easily prise that unit out and clean and grease the connections to fix.
