Cutting out after starting

I start the can and after about 10 seconds it cuts out if I lift the bonnet and prime the bulb on the filter then the car will start and run ok for the day can anyone please help cheers barry

Guessing from "prime the bulb" it's diesel?
Yes then you have a leak in the fuel system that's letting in air to the fuel supply line/fliter.
You could try a new good quality fuel filter but if that doesn't do it then the fuel system needs vacuum tested to find the problem.
Air's getting in somewhere.
