Oil Pressure

2009 Renault Koleos
Car: Renault Koleos
Year: 2009

I am one of the very few owners of a Renault Koleos, and maybe now I understand why....
I bought this car 5 months ago (2009 Reg), it has full service history, the last service was done in February 2011. Since buying this car I only added aroun 1500 miles on the clock.
Last saturday when driving at the M40, I saw a message on the dashboard "Oil Pressure - STOP". there was lots of knocking sounds coming from the engine, so we stopped immediately.
Even though the car was regularly serviced, it is under 3 years old, it is under 100,000 miles, and we check the oil level regularly, the Renault Garage is trying really hard to push the blame on us, so they wont need to pay for a new engine.... Anyone else with similar problems with the oil pressure?
Many thanks

If the car was serviced as per Renault schedule and there was correct oil / level in car , dont know how you could have caused the fault . Would be interesting to see what was found as to cause when engine is stripped down and examined .

Hi Lela
I had the same problem except I got no warning.
Mine is a diesel by the way. What is yours?
After some grumbling Renault replace the motor under warrenty[it had done 40,000 kls]
You do know if its a diesel its a nissan engine
and for the best part trouble free.I will see if I can find out from Renault if they found out why it failed
