2004 Renault Clio drivers window stopped working

Today when driving along i had both windows open, when i stopped briefly i closed them both using the buttons on the drivers door. When i continued on with my journey the drivers window just wouldn't move! no noise, no nothing. passenger side is ok. Ideas where i start?

Could try swapping switches and that eliminates one possible cause .

Ok, checked the fuses and the switches still not got anywhere. What to do next and HOW please?

Ok now we have bypassed everything and taken a feed from the battery direct to the motor and that moved the window!!
