2005 Renault Clio radio/ cd controls not working

started the engine today the radio came on volume controls not working and not able to switch to cd and unable to turn radio off even when engine was switched off. the cars due its MOT so i took it to garage and theyve taken the battery out they said theyve never seen this problem before, and i might need to get a new radio/ cd player. i cant afford this id be grateful of any ideas as to source of problem and solutions?

Take it to any car audio /ICE specialists and ask them for advice .Plenty in Yellow pages . Depending on where in Glasgow you are but here is one company who have been in business for many years . " www.motorsoundglasgow.co.uk/".If worse comes to worse , and you need a new set but cant afford it just now , remove fuse for radio .Wont affect the MOT .
