2002 Renault Clio electronic fault

Variant: 1.2 16v
my car missfired and seems to be running fine now apart from the electronic light on the dash board does anybody know if this light goes out when the problem is fixed or does renault have to reset it

depends on diferent cars,some will keep the light illuminated untill fault codes cleared even if fault not present,some will only illuminate when fault present,best thing is put a code reader on and check/reset fault codes

How do you reset the Renault clio engine warning light?
The engine management light is on for a reason. The car needs to have a diagnostics run on it and the fault corrected. Usually it will then reset itself and the fault will be recorded in the ECU memory. The codes can also be erased with the same diagnostics equipment but if the fault is not cured the light will come back on. Renault will usually put the car on there diagnostics for 1/2 on hours labour. You can then decide if you want them to repair it or find someone cheaper. Most local garages have diagnostics these days but not all can read the Renault codes
