I have a problem with my daughters 1999 1.6 auto, it decides when it wants to go into safety mode and drop down gears, the engine revs up and the warning light comes on, she has to pull over stop the car and then restart to reset the fault, it can then either happen again on the same trip or decide not to. maybe does not happen again for a day or two but when you least want it it goes again, had it into a renault dealer who faond no faults on the electronics but something must be wrong, I see so many references to this on the internet, any help would be great.
