2001 Renault Clio car will not start first turn of the key

car will not always start first turn of the key have had new starting motor so know that it is not the starter . when trying to start it have to pump the accelarator for it to start. is this a fuel pump problem? help it driving me mad

hi i would relace the fuel filter first it could be blocked up. any idea when it was last replaced??

no idea had car a year will try changing it and see how i get on thanks very much

Could be the Coolant Temperature Sensor which tells the ECU how much fuel the engine needs i,e more fuel when cold / starting .
