We have had trouble with intermittent failure whilst idling but the car always started agin. Sometimes by using the spare key. Sometimes not. While doing aprrox 20 mph the car stopped with a whirring noise from the engine. Now will not start at all. When the ignition is turned on the starter motor will move the car. Could this be the cam belt? Battery earth strap? I don' know modern cars very well but would like to get a look at the valves if someone can tell me where to get at them. Any ideas gratefully received as so short of cash to get someone in!

If you remove oil filler cap and someone turns engine , you will be able to see if camshaft turning . Be careful of possible oil splashing .

a have a 04 plate 1.2 16v with light front end damage it turns over wont start does it have a cut off switch if so where is it
