2005 Renault Clio boot won't open on my clio

Car: Renault Clio
Year: 2005
Variant: Extreme
My problem began two weeks ago when the boot of my Clio would not lock. I called a local garage and they told me to get the spare key and try that, which I did, and now the boot won't open at all - with either key!! Any ideas how much this will cost to get fixed?

it could be the locking solenoid in the boot does it make a noise when you lock and unlock the vehicle

you need to access the boot by putting the rear seats down and going through the boot that way you then need to remove the trim covering the inside of the tailgate it may just be pull off or there may be some screws once removed manually open tailgate by releasing catch, once opened operate central locking if fitted and see if solenoid is working or put key in lock and check operation of lock, you may nas well try and do this yourself as the garage is only going to access the boot the same way.The panel may break slightly because you are trying to take it off with boot shut but there is not much you can do about this
