Stiff shifting into first gear.

Gear stick is always stiff shifting into first gear,and very rarely get a shudder/ like one shudd if that makes sense when changing into second gear, but this does not happen all the time.
Any advice welcome.

Could be clutch worn , needing replaced .Should not have clutch judder when changing unless there is a fault .
