2005 Renault Clio lack of accelaration

Car: Renault Clio
Year: 2005
Variant: 1,2 Authentic 16v
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi Everyone, I really hope someone can help me. I have a Renault Clio II 1,2 Authentic 16v 2005 which is giving me endless hassles. One morning, about a month ago, I started the car and was greeted by all kinds of warning lights. ABS light, Engine light, Stop light, SERV light... Basically all the warning lights are on. The car idles perfectly but with acceleration, +-3000 rpm is the highest it goes then accelerator just goes flat. The maximum speed I can do is +-60 - 70 km/h. No power at all. The speedo does not work, the mileage counter does not work. The safety belt warning beep does not work as well as the automatic locking of the car when it does a certain speed. What I have also found is that, when I step on the brake pedal, while in neutral, and attempt acceleration, it is completely flat. It is idling but there is no acceleration. I have checked for worn out cables, changed the acceleration pedal, checked earth cables all around the car. If there is anyone that might have an idea, that would be highly appreciated.
Regards
Mark

Take it you have checked all fuses ? They do suffer from instrument cluster faults also ,

@whittingehame I have checked all fuses. Basically traced through all electrical wiring in the Engine area for any worn our wiring but I hit a dead end. Are you suggesting that the DASHBOARD / INSTRUMENT CLUSTER / PANEL is failing and needs to be replaced? I failed to mention that I found a dead rat in the "firewall" if that's what its called. Between the Dashboard and the engine area. Just where the wiper motor sits. I am almost certain that these guys got a hold of some electrical wiring. Is there a possibility of that being the cause? Unfortunately I haven't gotten as far as removing the Dashboard for further investigation in that area. I will try that next and keep you updated

Thank you for your assistance

Very possible wiring has been chewed through somewhere ,One of my friends had a prized Nissan 260z which he only took out on good days , so in this country that's not too often .One day the car alarm went off when car in garage and he could not get it to start .Called the AA breakdown and on lifting bonnet they found numerous wiring and hoses chewed through by squirrels and shorting out alarm etc.Worth checking .

Another possible cause could be s*** in fuel tank clogging up gauze filter on the end of fuel pump / sender in tank .
