2001 Renault Clio engine cut out

I have a 1.2 16v clio,when i start up from cold i drive for about a mile ok then the engine just stops while driving then starts again as if i have turned it off,it just slows down nearly stopping then pulls away again,i have replaced the coil pack,leads,air filter,but still does it any ideas..

Would suggest a code read as first step diagnosis.

You dont mention changing the plugs ?
