Clio is missing when idling, and Engine Management light flashes on/off sometimes, but runs fine when being driven normally.

Sounds like a misfire. Probably the coil pack. The square four pot could fail a lot on the Renault's. I've had to change quite a few.
Misfire is probably there when driving but you wouldn't notice it as much. Do you have access to a code reader? Simple ones are cheap on eBay atm
