On starting vefore putting in gear the engine vinrates and make a sort of bobbing noise and does it after warm up at junctions

Would be advisable to get engine / transmision mountings checked .Also exhaust and mountings .

Are these cars likely to be restricted? if so where would the restrictor be located?

No not restricted,other than normal emission control,that every car,or most have to pass mot,I.e. catalyst.

Check plugs , leads .

Well. I have replaced the spark plugs with totally new ones, and the problem went away for a short while, but the bobbing noise and vibration has returned, I have checked the HD leads and they seem too long and one doesn't want to fit as tightly as the rest and I have come to doubt that they are fitted in the right order, can any body tell be what the order is and how they fit on the Dissy cap/CDI or whatever modern cars have?
