2007 Renault Clio car jerks when driving and engine light is flashing sometimes

hi any help, dumb woman here, my car recently has started jerking when driving, goes slow jerks then speeds up, going u hills the engine light flashes, could it be possible i need an oil change? embarrassed to admit this i have the car 4 years and have never had an oil change, could this be my problem?

No oil change for 4 years isn't going to do the engine any favours depending on how much use the car's had.

I'd get it booked in for a service and have the faults read out, also see the link below.

check the oil level it may be low, also replace the spark plugs
