my problem is the centre dash light comes on and the manual tells me it is a ellectrical fault, when this comes on there is a great loss of power from the engin, some times if you switch the ignition off and on again the light goe out for a while then comes back on and recreating the problem again

Ideally you need a fault code/flash code to point you in the right direction or you will send a lot of time trying to find an intermittent fault. Budget Scanners/fault code readers can be bought off E84y for 10-15£ and OEBD number can be googled-hope this helps
