2001 Renault Clio leaking sunroof

Hi can anyone help, my daughter has a clio on a 51 plate with a leaking sunroof. The roof is manual and the water is coming in around the sun visor both sides. She has had it sealed with silicone to no avail, has also had the windscreen replaced as the seal around that had rotted. We thought that that may have been the cause of the leak, but unfortunately not. It is not something either of us can do so we need advise on where to take it. We live near Barnsley so ideally anyone local, other than that she is at uni in Scarborough, so anyone over there. Many thanks

Hi Katrina, can`t advise about local garages as i live the other side of the country, but sunroof`s often leak due to blocked drain channels that are there to drain water away.
Open the sunroof and have a look around the opening for any holes. Then get a long peice of thin wire or similar and poke if right down into the holes.
Once unblocked, water should drain out under the car or by the bottom of the wing/door

hi i had this problem and thought it was leaking from sunroof but the ariel was mounted above windscreen and found water was leaking in from there got some sealer and resealed it and have not had the problem since .

Many thanks to both of you for replying, 1st time i have used one of these forums. Never thought about the areial, we'll take a look, will also try and look at the channels. Once again many many thanks Kat

Take a look at sunroof repairs.co.uk, they have sorted mine out in the past. I tried temporary fixes but in the long run its best left to the professionals.
