Central locking does not work

hi i own a renault clio 1999 hatchback and my central locking does not work. the light on key flashes but does not do anything. my key for the drivers door does not open so i have to go to the passenger side to open door and climb over. what can i do to solve this problem?

A 99 model should have a 3v disc battery in the key, you can get access after removing the phillips screw.
Check the voltage anything less than 3v is no good
so replace the battery.
not sure if it is possible to fit a coded key barrel
or maybe code it yourself. Door lock coding is fiddly and fitting of can sometimes get a bit involved on some models , like having to remove the window etc.
