the instrument panel isnt reading how many miles of petrol i have in the tank,iv changed fuel pump but still not working,any ideas?

If the fuel pump / sender unit and float are o.k you may have a fault with the instrument cluster i.e.
Renault Clio 1 instrument cluster Speedo (98 on).
Common faults;
Inaccurate fuel and/or temp gauge readings.
Intermittent/jumpy Speedo gauge.
Pixelated LCD display.
Cluster Lights flicker on/off till warm.
Intermittent failure.
Complete power failure.
