2005 Peugeot 807 locked bonnet

Bonnet lever cable loose, bonnet locked, won't open. Suspect serviceman tempered with it when about checking gear oil level. Efforts at opening d bonnet abortive. Don't want d car damaged. Pls help with practical suggestions. Waiting, it's urgent! Thank u.

First thing I usually try is getting a pair of vice grip pliers clamped on the remains of the catch wire and giving it a good tug.
