Erratic idle

after driving car for 10 mins or so and the car becomes stationary the idle speed will suddenly rise to 1000rpm then drop to around 600rpm then stabilize. This will continue intermtantly and is accompanied by a juddering sensation in the car. any ideas?

Peugeots are very common for faulty idle control valves and throttle position sensors
