1995 Peugeot 806 tailgate won't open

Central locking is working on 4 doors, but the back door " tailgate" makes a ' Boeing's sound and will not open. I don't have a key for the tailgate

Sounds like something is seized. Get inside the car and there should be a kind of emergency release somewhere. Otherwise take the rear panel off and carefully manipulate the main rod to open it. Disconnect the electric solenoid and lock/unlock with the fob or dash switch. See if it operates. And also pull the rod the solenoid is connected to and see if the door mechanism operates.. A bit of wd40 could solve it. If you have power to the solenoid by the noise you hear I would say either the solenoid is seized or the mech has gone stiff.
