Peugeot 406 multiple dash lights on when car not turned on.

Hi all,
I have recently been having an electrical problem with my 406 whereby when the car is off and keys are not in the ignition, there will be multiple warnings lights illuminated on the dash (a flashing STOP light, engine light, fuel empty light, even the centre console will light up and sometimes the radio has even come on by itself)
The car does start without any hiccups though.
Furthermore, when the car is on - the fuel guage jumps between completely empty (with flashing light) to almost full. The LCD display shows that the car is consuming 11 litres of fuel per 100km just when idling.
And lastly, on possibly an unrelated matter - I opened the hood to find that the oil cap was missing and there was oil spattered around the engine compartment, nothing too major and the oil level in the engine was fine.
Could oil in some of the plugs cause these strange faults? any help or tips would be much appreciated.

The oil cap coming off will probably be due to the engine cover being loose due to broken dampers. I would check under the carpet inthe drivers footwell for signs of water ingress as there are a few connectors under there!

I have a very seriously problem with my peugeot 406 1.8 engine and it is a petrol engine. It jerks when ever am making a turn on a high slope ground especially on gear 2, also whenever am motion it goes off no matter the speed i will have to park at side of the road and start the engine before it responds and that is always not up to 4 minutes interval. what do i do? Also when it is on reverse mode i hear strange sound from the shaft. please a need a quick reply on what to do. [email protected]
