2000 Peugeot 406 cold weather bleeping

Variant: 1.9 hdi
my 406 keeps bleeping every half hour or so.it only happens in extreme cold weather & when switched off i have tried not locking it but it still happens

Dont know if a faulty temp. sensor in mirror would cause this ,see here .
