1998 Peugeot 406 coolant,over heating.

hi,i have got a peugeot 406 30.ltr.v6. the car losees coolant and over heats on short or long trips the fans come on,there is no coolant in the oil or water i have droped it all out and changed the oil for new+new oil filter.i am a bit stuck cos there in no book on that engine..i was thinking of changing the water pump and new thermostac..other than that would any one have any ideas how to help me...many thanks..kevin..sorry about spelling..lol

Check thermostat , try bleeding / flushing cooling system . If losing water , get pressure test on cooling system which will show any leaks .If still not right , a sniff test (block test )will show any fault on cyl . head / gasket .
