1999 Peugeot 406 jerking motion while in motion

hi guyz in addition to my earlier querry on what is causing my car to experience a jerking or surging motion while cruising yet i have changed the fuel filter.

my car speciafications are as follows;

model-1.8
engine- W\EW7 J4 petrol
Rating- 1749 cc
year -1999

kindly advice as to the probable cause so as to fix it soonest as i may end up stalling on the highway.

Could check / clean the idle control valve and stepper motor / throttle body .

hi i had a similar problam on a 205 1.9GTI turned out to be the air flow meter car ran perfect once changed i got one from a breakers yard hope this helps all the best daz.
