1999 Peugeot 406 ignition cuts out the electricsd

my car has been running fine until last friday, when i turn the key all the lights on the dash come on as normal, I turn it one more click to start the engine and at this point all of the electrics just cut out and nothing at all works, if i tap the relays and reclose the bonnit the electrics are now back on untill I try to start it again?

not come across this before but check all electrical connections and the ones going to the ecus remove and reconnect them one at a time process of elimination hope this helps
