Rev counter sticking and serging

th3 rev counter sticking and one time i pressed the clutch in it sent it up to 3000 revs. please help

Not really too familar on that car , but I think on some models there was a sensor / pick up for the flywheel roundabout the engine block and bell housing area. Could check that and wiring , connection.

as Whittinghame says but you may also have a dodgy instrument pod.
