2000 Peugeot 406 noisy sound "check engine"+ catalytic converter fault+ low oil pressure fault

Car: Peugeot 406
Year: 2000
Variant: 2.0
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Good day everyone!Yesterday I was driving my new Peugeot 407, everything was just amazing ,very quite car. then I switch my car to sport regime and the car accelerate until 1/6000(automatic gearbox) After this moment my car became noisy as hell: very load knocking sound and the panel shows " check engine light" + catalytic converter fault+ low oil pressure fault. Where could be the problem? Pls, give me your advise. This noise is disturbing me, and I'm really worried. Went to two garages they told" it's the end of your engine, buy new one" not doing any diagnostic. Thank you a lot.

Sounds like the garages could be right and you have ran a big end bearing or more .Shouldn't have given an old car like that the welly .They wont need to do a diagnostic to confirm that .

not the best thing to do with a 13 year old car you have just bought oil level could have been low or due a change if car is in good condition apart from engine then think about second hand engine but this with fitting costs will cost more than car is worth however a car with a shot engine is scrap value choice is yours
